Dodgers Catcher Quits Game Due to Illness

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Hunter Feduccia exited the team's 7-6 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night due to an apparent illness. Manager Dave Roberts indicated Feduccia was suffering from a stomach bug or food poisoning and had been struggling throughout the game.

Feduccia, who was catching his second consecutive game and fourth in five days, ultimately left the game with one out in the seventh inning. He was observed doubling over behind the plate after a strikeout, later being seen throwing up in the dugout. Stadium personnel were required to clean the area.

The Dodgers' offense, which has shown recent improvement, secured the series-clinching win despite Feduccia's departure. Key contributors included Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Tommy Edman, Teoscar Hernández, and Kyle Tucker. Pitching was anchored by Eric Lauer's five-inning start and strong relief from the bullpen, including a save by Tanner Scott.

Feduccia has recently become the Dodgers' primary catcher due to injuries, starting nine of the last 14 games. He was reacquired by the team this year after being traded last season. Feduccia is expected to rest and hydrate on Wednesday.
