Dodgers Star Snell Not Ready for Opening Day
28 Feb
Summary
- Blake Snell's shoulder injury will likely keep him from Opening Day.
- Snell is progressing, currently throwing on flat ground, not the mound.
- Yoshinobu Yamamoto will join Shohei Ohtani in Japan for the WBC.

Two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell is not expected to be ready for the Los Angeles Dodgers' Opening Day due to a shoulder injury. The injury has been a lingering issue since last season. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Snell is currently throwing on flat ground and showing progress. Last year, Snell pitched in 11 regular-season games, posting a 5-4 record with a 2.35 ERA, and contributed to the team's World Series championship. In other team news, pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave up two runs over three innings in a recent spring training game against San Francisco. Yamamoto is scheduled to travel to Japan for the World Baseball Classic, where he will be joined by Dodgers teammate Shohei Ohtani.
