Borussia Dortmund has confirmed that goalkeeper Diant Ramaj will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at FC Copenhagen. Talks for this reunion began last week, culminating in an agreement that includes a €5 million purchase option for Copenhagen next summer. This transfer effectively concludes Ramaj's time with Dortmund, as he never made a senior competitive appearance for the club.
Ramaj initially joined Dortmund from Ajax in February 2025 for €5 million, signing a contract until 2029. He was seen as a potential successor to Gregor Kobel but was immediately loaned back to Copenhagen for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. Following his spell in Denmark, he played for Heidenheim last season, starting 31 league games, and likely seeks to avoid returning to a reserve role at Dortmund.
During his first loan at Copenhagen in spring 2025, Ramaj made 19 appearances, conceded 14 goals, and kept ten clean sheets, helping them secure a domestic double. Sporting director Kristjaan Speakman praised his ambition and mentality, while head coach Bo Svensson highlighted his comfort in possession and build-up play. Ramaj expressed his happiness with the move, missing the club and its atmosphere.
