In a peculiar turn of events at Great American Ball Park, the Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo disrupted the Reds' mascot race before the bottom of the fifth inning. As Perdomo jogged from the dugout, he crossed the mascot race's finish line, humorously declaring his own win. He noted his readiness to 'get his W' if the mascots got too close.
Following this unusual interlude, Perdomo delivered a decisive blow in the sixth inning. After a fielding error allowed a teammate to reach base, Perdomo launched a Tejay Antone fastball an estimated 400 feet into right field. This home run provided the Diamondbacks with a crucial 5-3 lead, which they maintained to secure the victory.
