Young Indian badminton player Devika Sihag has secured a spot in her first BWF Super 300 final. The 20-year-old achieved this milestone at the Thailand Masters after defeating world No. 35 Huang Yu-Hsun of Chinese Taipei in the semifinals. Sihag's victory was a dramatic affair, particularly in the opening game where she rallied from a 15-20 deficit to save five game points before clinching it 22-20. She continued her momentum to win the second game 21-13.
Sihag's journey in the tournament has been impressive. She previously won her maiden BWF International Challenge title at the Malaysia International in August 2025. Her consistent performance also contributed to India's mixed team bronze medal at the 2025 World University Games. Her upward trajectory continued last season with a runner-up finish at the Indonesia Masters Super 100 and four other finals in 2024, including wins at the Swedish Open and Portugal International.
