Capitals Clinch Thriller, Keep IPL Playoff Hopes Alive

Delhi Capitals secured a vital three-wicket victory against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala on Monday, bolstering their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 playoff aspirations. The team successfully chased a target of 211 runs in a high-stakes encounter.

Despite a mid-innings collapse that saw Delhi Capitals at 74/4, a strong partnership was forged by Axar Patel and David Miller, who both registered half-centuries. Their efforts, coupled with crucial contributions from Ashutosh Sharma and Madhav Tiwari, guided Delhi Capitals to a total of 216/7 in 19 overs.

This significant chase marks the first time a team has successfully chased over 200 runs in Dharamsala in IPL history. The victory propelled Delhi Capitals to seventh in the points table with 10 points from 12 matches. Punjab Kings, with 13 points, slumped to their fourth consecutive loss, emphasizing the need for them to win their remaining two games to qualify.
