The 2026 Delaware County Baseball Tournament will culminate in a rivalry showdown between Delta and Yorktown. Delta secured their spot by defeating Daleville 10-0 in five innings, thanks to a stellar no-hitter performance by senior pitcher Ayden Mitchell. Mitchell struck out nine batters and allowed six walks over the five innings.
Delta's offense also proved powerful, scoring four runs in the first inning and adding more in the third and fifth. Key contributors included Maddox Huffman and Brady Williams, who hit a home run. The Eagles are aiming for their third straight county championship.
In the second semifinal, Yorktown triumphed over Wapahani with an 8-1 victory. The Tigers responded to an early Wapahani lead with two runs in the first inning and extended their advantage significantly in the fifth. Junior Kaden Crumes' bases-clearing triple was a pivotal moment for Yorktown.
Yorktown's pitching was led by starter Luke Cahoe, who went five innings, followed by relief appearances from Ryan Burkholder and Ethan Hellems. The Tigers are seeking their first county championship since 2022. The championship game is scheduled for May 16 at Yorktown High School.
