Italy's Davis Cup Reign Threatened!

Italy's quest for a remarkable fourth consecutive Davis Cup title is facing significant hurdles due to player availability concerns. Captain Filippo Volandri is carefully managing his squad's physical condition as the end of the season approaches.

Lorenzo Musetti is currently dealing with a fractured ring finger on his right hand, an injury sustained from a contusion. Despite this, he is attempting to recover for the Masters 1000 event in Shanghai, with a decision pending in the coming days. This injury has plagued an already challenging year for the young Italian, hindering his consistency.

Captain Volandri indicated that final team selections will be made closer to the competition, prioritizing players in the best technical, physical, and mental form. He is monitoring the performance of his players in upcoming European indoor tournaments in Vienna and Paris to make his choices.
