Daria Kasatkina: From Russia to Australia's Tennis Star

Daria Kasatkina, originally from Tolyatti, Russia, embarked on a significant life change by becoming an Australian citizen in 2025. Her journey in professional tennis has been marked by a strong athletic upbringing, with both parents being former competitors in ice hockey and athletics. This background fostered a disciplined approach to her sport from a young age.

Kasatkina's introduction to tennis occurred at six, inspired by her brother. Her talent led to intensive training, including time at Slovakia's Empire Tennis Academy. While representing Russia for most of her career, she officially switched to representing Australia in March 2025, finding a welcoming environment for her future.
