Summary
- Daughter mourns father again after memorial stone vanished
- Club claims memorial stone does not mean fixed location
- Club offered goodwill payment with strict non-disclosure clause

Nearly four decades after her father's passing, Julie Westwood is experiencing profound grief once more. Birmingham City Football Club removed a memorial stone, which contained a portion of her father Roy Westwood's ashes, from its location near the main entrance off Cattell Road. Westwood had purchased the stone in 2000, believing it to be a permanent fixture at St Andrew's.
Westwood discovered the stone missing on December 20, finding a blank brick in its place. The club later presented an alternative stone, but Westwood asserts it is not the original, lacking specific personal details and being in a different position. The club maintains that a permanent memorial signifies an accessible location within the stadium, not an indefinite fixed spot.
In response to Westwood's distress, the club offered a £250 goodwill payment. However, this offer came with a condition that she must not disclose the payment's existence or details to any third parties or on social media. Westwood has rejected this offer and declared she will no longer support the club due to their treatment.
Roy Westwood, a lifelong fan, died in 1988. His daughter, who shared his passion for the club, had the memorial stone placed with some of his ashes, as it was where his heart lay and he had no other grave.
