A group of 11 cyclists, including five women, recently completed an astounding 3,700-kilometer journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in just 22 days. Averaging 50 years old, the team showcased exceptional physical and mental fortitude throughout the demanding expedition. Supported by a dedicated seven-member crew, their ride traversed eleven Indian states.
Daily cycling involved 8 to 9 hours of pedalling, covering approximately 180 to 200 kilometers, starting as early as 4:30 AM. Team members shared inspiring experiences, noting the diverse cultures and languages encountered. They also highlighted the overwhelming support received from various communities, reflecting India's unity.
Endurance sports advocate Madhu Mandanna emphasized the life-changing benefits of such pursuits, including discipline and improved focus. Former minister S Suresh Kumar lauded the cyclists' spirit and encouraged broader participation in fitness and endurance activities.
