India's CWG 2026: Star Athletes Launch Medal Hunt

India's campaign at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow officially begins on Monday, with numerous athletes poised to compete across various disciplines. The athletics events will see national record holders Gurindervir Singh in the 100m heats and Tejas Shirshe in the 110m hurdles, while Murali Sreeshankar and Lokesh Sathyanathan lead the long jump challenge.

Weightlifting continues with medal aspirations for Gyaneshwari Yadav (53kg) and Bindyarani Devi (58kg) in their respective categories. The boxing ring will host Indian pugilists Sachin Siwach (60kg), Ankush (80kg), Sakshi Chaudhary (51kg), and Sumit Kundu (70kg) in their round-of-16 bouts.
