Rain Washes Out Cubs-Mets Game, Delays Imanaga Start

The scheduled series opener between the Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets on Monday was postponed due to forecast inclement weather. Showers were expected throughout the evening at Citi Field, making the game unplayable.

This postponement forces a change in the Cubs' pitching rotation. It will be made up as a split doubleheader on Wednesday. Pitcher Shota Imanaga's next start has been pushed back an additional day. He is now slated to pitch on Tuesday with seven days of rest.

Kodai Senga is expected to be the starting pitcher for the Mets. This will be his second outing since returning from the injured list last week, where he allowed four runs over four innings.
