CSK Eyes Venkatesh Iyer: Auction Strategy Revealed

Chennai Super Kings, seeking to rebound from their first-ever last-place finish in IPL 2025, are preparing for significant action in the upcoming IPL 2026 auction. Armed with a substantial purse of ₹43.40 crore, the franchise is reportedly targeting all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer. Iyer's versatility in batting across all positions, from opener to the middle order, is seen as a key asset to address CSK's previous lineup limitations.

CSK's strategy with Iyer could significantly enhance their batting order, providing a crucial left-handed presence to counter spin bowlers and exploit match-ups. This move also frees up overseas player slots, potentially allowing the team to acquire much-needed pace bowling or spin-bowling all-rounders to bolster their attack.
