Summary
- Isaac Cruz is no longer expected to fight Gervonta Davis.
- Cruz has joined Canelo Alvarez's trainer, Eddy Reynoso.
- Vasiliy Lomachenko is now a potential opponent for Davis.
Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz is reportedly not set to be the opponent for Gervonta Davis's next fight. Their previous encounter in 2021 saw Davis secure a close unanimous decision victory over Cruz. This development coincides with news that Cruz has aligned himself with Eddy Reynoso, who has guided the career of Canelo Alvarez.
As Cruz is no longer an option for Davis's return bout, speculation now turns to Vasiliy Lomachenko. The three-division world champion, who is reportedly preparing to emerge from a two-year retirement, is said to be eyeing a significant fight against Davis. Lomachenko has previously expressed interest in facing top-tier opponents in "Big Fights."
