Record Partnership Shatters Cricket History

The Gold Coast Dolphins are on the cusp of claiming their first Queensland Premier Cricket title in 17 years following an extraordinary record-breaking partnership. Over the weekend at Allan Border Field, Hugo Burdon and Stephan Stephan forged an unprecedented 629-run stand for the third wicket against Northern Suburbs.

This remarkable partnership, which lasted 163.4 overs, is now the highest in Australian premier cricket history. Burdon contributed a massive 340 runs, the second-highest individual score in Queensland Premier Cricket, before being dismissed. Stephan remained unbeaten on 272 as the Dolphins declared at 3-630.

Following the declaration, the Dolphins' bowlers struck early, leaving Northern Suburbs in a precarious position at 3-36, trailing by 594 runs. Despite the commanding lead, the Dolphins remain focused on securing the victory, emphasizing the need for continued preparation and execution.
