Cricket Dominates OTT: World Cup & IPL Top 2026 Viewership

Cricket viewership surged on Indian OTT platforms in the first half of 2026, according to a new Ormax StreamView report. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 attracted an estimated 246 million viewers on JioHotstar, making it the most-watched title. The Indian Premier League 2026, also streamed on JioHotstar, secured the second position with 228.4 million viewers.

The report, which launched in January 2026, expands Ormax's scope to track long-form content across various genres and platforms. Outside of cricket, "India's Got Latent" Season 2 emerged as the top non-sports property with 38.5 million projected lifetime viewers. Ranveer Singh's "Dhurandhar" led Hindi theatrical releases with 35.2 million viewers on Netflix and JioHotstar.
