Cowboys Eye Cornerback & Pass Rusher for 2026 Draft

The Dallas Cowboys are poised to make significant additions to their defense during the 2026 NFL draft, holding two valuable selections in the first round. These picks were acquired through a trade, highlighting a strategic shift towards strengthening the defensive unit. The team has already made moves this offseason, acquiring defensive players to complement their existing roster.

At pick No. 12, the Cowboys are strongly considering Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy. Despite a recent ACL tear, McCoy's impressive Pro Day performance, including a 4.38 40-yard dash, has solidified his status as an ideal fit. For their second first-round pick, No. 20 overall, Dallas is looking at Miami's Akheem Mesidor, an energetic and violent pass rusher.
