Sophie Gregory, a 34-year-old mother from Coventry, is set to compete in the prestigious Olympia fitness competition in Las Vegas this September. This elite event is often referred to as the "Olympics of bodybuilding."
Gregory, who began her weight training journey in 2021, qualified for the competition by securing a second-place finish in Reno, Nevada, followed by a first-place victory at the Toronto Pro competition in Canada.
She attributes her rapid success to a combination of natural genetics, her background as a former GB youth gymnast, and an unwavering work ethic. She took two years off to focus on training, gaining approximately 12kg, after initial feedback from judges to "grow some legs and learn to pose."
Gregory's decision to enter the fitness category was further motivated by the passing of her mother last February, as she wishes to compete in her memory.
