The FA Community Shield, serving as the season's curtain-raiser, will see Arsenal and Manchester City compete at an alternative venue this year. Wembley Stadium, the traditional home for the fixture, is unavailable as it will host The Weeknd's "After Hours Til Dawn" tour from August 14th to August 19th. Consequently, the match has been moved to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
This is not the first time the Community Shield has been held away from Wembley. In 2022, Leicester's King Power Stadium hosted the event to accommodate the UEFA Women's Euros final. Additionally, Villa Park was the venue in 2012 during the London Summer Olympics. The Principality Stadium, home to the Welsh national rugby team, has a significant history of hosting football matches, including FA Cup finals and League Cup finals between 2000 and 2007, as well as the 2017 Champions League final.
