Comerica Park Renamed Fifth Third Park

Comerica Park, the Detroit Tigers' home since 2000, will soon be known as Fifth Third Park. This name change is a direct result of Fifth Third Bank's acquisition of Comerica Inc., which was finalized in February. The naming rights agreement with the former Comerica was set to run until 2034, but bank officials confirmed the park would eventually be renamed following the merger.

The $10.9 billion all-stock deal created the nation's ninth-largest bank, boasting over $300 billion in assets. Fifth Third Bank has a history of sports sponsorships, including Fifth Third Field in Toledo and Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati. This marks the sixth name for the Detroit Tigers' primary home ballpark since the franchise joined the American League in 1901, following Bennett Park, Navin Field, Briggs Stadium, Tiger Stadium, and Comerica Park.
