Comeback Kid: Former Pro Bowler Renfrow Battles Back from Illness to Earn Panthers Tryout

In March 2024, former Pro Bowl wide receiver Hunter Renfrow was cut by the Las Vegas Raiders after struggling with a severe case of ulcerative colitis, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease. At the time, Renfrow had lost 35 pounds, battled a high fever, and felt completely drained of the energy and passion that had made him a standout player.

However, after receiving proper treatment and making dietary changes, Renfrow has regained his health and is now trying to make an NFL comeback with the Carolina Panthers, the team he rooted for growing up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Renfrow's college coach at Clemson, Dabo Swinney, believes that if anyone can make it back to the league, it's Renfrow.

In recent months, Renfrow has been working tirelessly to get back into football shape, and his efforts have not gone unnoticed.
