McConchie Replaces Bracewell for T20 World Cup

New Zealand all-rounder Cole McConchie has received a career boost with his call-up to the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup squad. He replaces Michael Bracewell in the team that will compete in the tournament co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
McConchie, a dependable performer for Canterbury, first played for New Zealand in September 2021. His journey in cricket began in 2011, and he progressed to make his First-Class and T20 debuts in the 2012-13 season.
His leadership skills were evident when he was appointed captain of Canterbury in 2018. He also captained the New Zealand A side in practice matches against the West Indies in November 2020.
McConchie made his T20I debut against Bangladesh on September 1, 2021, taking a wicket with his first ball. He has since played 15 T20Is, scoring 145 runs and taking seven wickets. He also debuted in ODIs on May 3, 2023, against Pakistan, accumulating 126 runs and four wickets in six matches.
