Summary
- Walker is one of nine MLB players with 35+ HR and 100+ RBI in last 365 days.
- He signed a three-year, $60 million deal before the 2025 season.
- Walker has overcome a slow start to become a significant power threat.
Houston Astros first baseman Christian Walker is currently demonstrating significant power at the plate, earning him a spot among the league's top sluggers. Walker's performance over the past 365 days places him in an exclusive group of nine MLB players who have achieved 35 or more home runs and 100 or more RBIs. This impressive power display comes after a challenging start to the 2025 season. In the first half, Walker recorded 12 home runs but also 103 strikeouts with a .229 batting average. However, a post-All-Star break adjustment led to a remarkable turnaround. Walker signed a three-year, $60 million contract with the Astros before the 2025 campaign. His recent production, including hitting four home runs in three consecutive games a week prior to May 30, 2026, suggests his power surge is continuing. This performance is vital for the Astros as they aim to improve their standing in the AL West.
