China Denies Visa to India's Top Tennis Player Sumit Nagal

However, on Tuesday, Nagal revealed on social media that his visa application was rejected without any reason provided. He then sought help from the Chinese Ambassador to India.
In response, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Lin Jian, stated that China issues visas to athletes from all countries, including India, in accordance with its laws and regulations. Jian expressed hope that Nagal would submit his application materials in a timely manner and in line with the requirements of the Chinese Embassy in India.
Nagal, a 27-year-old player from Jhajjar, Haryana, is currently India's highest-ranked singles player, placed 275 in the latest ATP standings. After losing his place in the top 100, Nagal has been relying on wildcard entries and qualifiers to compete in major tournaments, including the Australian Open and Roland Garros.
