Chiefs Eye Olave Trade Amid WR Woes
21 Mar
Summary
- Chiefs seek proven receiver beyond Rashee Rice.
- Chris Olave had career year with 100 receptions in 2025.
- Trade is unlikely but Chiefs have draft capital.

The Kansas City Chiefs are exploring options to enhance their wide receiver group, which currently relies heavily on young talent like Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy. One proposed solution involves acquiring New Orleans Saints receiver Chris Olave, who is seen as a potential veteran presence and a more reliable pass-catcher.
Olave recorded a standout 2025 season, achieving career-highs with 100 receptions, 1,163 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns, earning him second-team All-Pro honors. Despite his recent success, the Saints might consider trading him if presented with an irresistible offer, especially given the Chiefs' substantial draft capital, including two first-round picks.
Acquiring Olave would provide Patrick Mahomes with a dynamic primary receiver, a role left vacant since Tyreek Hill's departure in 2022. Although a trade remains improbable, the Chiefs have the assets to construct a significant package for the Pro Bowl receiver and elevate their offense.
