16 Jun
Summary
- Rashee Rice completed a 30-day jail sentence for probation violation.
- He is recovering from knee surgery and expected for training camp.
- Rice faced prior legal issues including a car racing incident.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was released from Dallas County Jail on Tuesday, having completed a 30-day sentence for violating his probation. The 26-year-old player was booked into jail last month after testing positive for THC, a substance found in cannabis, which led to an immediate order to serve his previously deferred jail time.
Rice is also rehabilitating from a cleanup procedure on his right knee, which he underwent last month. Team officials have been in contact with him regarding his recovery. Coach Andy Reid expressed confidence that Rice will be prepared for the team's training camp, scheduled to begin in late July.
This recent legal issue adds to Rice's off-field headlines. He was previously sentenced to five years of deferred probation and 30 days in jail for pleading guilty to felony charges related to a 2024 highway car racing incident in Dallas. He also served a six-game suspension earlier this year following a 2024 high-speed crash in Dallas, for which he paid over $115,000 in restitution.
Additionally, Rice was accused of assault in a civil lawsuit filed by the mother of his children, though he was not criminally charged, and the NFL found insufficient evidence for disciplinary action.
