15 May
Summary
- Chicago Bears schedule release video honored Bob Ross.
- Rome Odunze perfectly mimicked Bob Ross's voice and phrases.
- Bears face sixth-hardest schedule based on Vegas win totals.
The NFL has adopted a new approach for its schedule release content, allowing teams like the Chicago Bears to share their schedules slightly ahead of the official league release. The Bears embraced this opportunity with a video that brilliantly celebrated the iconic painter Bob Ross.
Voiced by Rome Odunze, the video perfectly captured Bob Ross's distinctive soft-spoken manner and memorable phrases, even including a drawing of a bird. While the creative execution was highly praised, the organization of the game list within the video was noted as a minor drawback.
However, the Bears' upcoming season presents a formidable challenge. Their strength of schedule is ranked sixth-hardest in the league, according to analysis based on Vegas oddsmakers' 2026 win totals. This difficult slate includes numerous teams that qualified for the 2025 playoffs.
Despite the tough competition, the Bears will benefit from minimal travel, experiencing the third-fewest miles of any NFL team. The schedule features a challenging lineup of opponents, including recent playoff participants and teams expected to contend for postseason berths.
