Chelsea target Gordon: Premier League star valued at £80m

Chelsea is reportedly planning a significant move for Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon this summer, with the transfer not contingent on Champions League qualification. The club aims to prioritize Premier League-proven talent, making Gordon an attractive prospect due to his ability to penetrate defenses, a quality Chelsea has lacked.

Gordon has recorded 22 goal involvements across all competitions this season, a tally surpassed only by Joao Pedro within the current Chelsea squad. Chelsea has a history of pursuing the England international, having previously attempted to sign him from Everton in 2022.

The pursuit of Gordon is competitive, with Bayern Munich also identifying him as a key attacking target and considering him an alternative to RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande. Arsenal, who explored signing him last summer, also maintains an interest, though their level of pursuit remains uncertain. Liverpool has a long-standing interest but does not currently view him as a summer target.

Newcastle United is reportedly open to selling Gordon, aiming for a substantial profit on the approximately £45 million paid to Everton in 2023. They are seeking at least £80 million for the winger, with Everton set to receive 15 percent of the profit from the sale.
