Charlie Woods has officially committed to play for the Florida State University men's golf team. This decision links one of golf's most prominent names to the Tallahassee-based program. Woods, currently the 21st-ranked amateur in the United States, announced his commitment on Tuesday, February 10. His arrival is highly anticipated, especially given his impressive junior career.
Several key relationships contributed to Woods' decision to join the Seminoles. He shares a strong friendship with Miles Russell, the world's top-ranked amateur, who is also part of FSU's incoming class. Both are TaylorMade athletes and have visited Tallahassee together. Additionally, Brooks Koepka, a decorated PGA Tour player and Florida State alumnus, is a close friend of the Woods family and reportedly played a role in facilitating Koepka's return to the PGA Tour.
Woods' talent is evident, with two amateur tournament wins and multiple top-10 finishes. He led his high school team to an FHSAA State title in November. His commitment, alongside that of Russell, promises an elite pairing for the Seminoles, provided both players make it to campus. Both golfers are eligible to sign with FSU in November.
