Summary
- Celtics and 76ers begin their 23rd playoff series.

The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers are renewing their historic playoff rivalry, marking their 23rd postseason series. Boston holds a significant advantage, having won 15 of the previous 22 matchups, including the last six consecutive series.
The last time the 76ers bested the Celtics in the playoffs was in 1982, a pivotal Game 7 victory in the Eastern Conference Finals. This year, Boston appears strong with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown healthy and ready to lead.
Philadelphia secured the No. 7 seed despite injuries, notably to Joel Embiid, whose availability remains uncertain as he recovers from appendectomy surgery. The 76ers will depend heavily on the high-scoring guard Tyrese Maxey, who also leads the league in minutes played.
