Celtics Legend Needs Marrow Donor

The Boston Celtics have made a heartfelt appeal to their supporters following a somber health update. Dr. Ed Lacerte, who served as the team's head athletic trainer for many years, has been diagnosed with Leukemia.

Medical professionals have advised Lacerte to undergo a blood stem cell transplant. In response, the Celtics organization is actively encouraging fans to register with the National Marrow Donor Program in hopes of finding a suitable match.

Lacerte was an integral part of the Celtics from 1987 to 2017, also contributing his expertise as the athletic trainer for the gold-medal-winning U.S. men's basketball team at the 1992 Olympics.
