Cavs Land Future Star in Duren Trade Proposal

The Cleveland Cavaliers have made their first offseason move, trading Dennis Schroder to the Charlotte Hornets for Tre Mann. This transaction is anticipated to pave the way for more significant deals, with speculation surrounding the acquisition of restricted free agent Jalen Duren from the Detroit Pistons.

A hypothetical three-team trade scenario has emerged, proposing to send Duren to Cleveland in a sign-and-trade agreement. This deal would aim to secure a long-term building block for the Cavaliers to pair with Donovan Mitchell, while also addressing the Pistons' situation with Duren and potentially facilitating a move for James Harden and Max Strus.

Under this proposed framework, Cleveland would receive Jalen Duren on a three-year, $131.7 million contract. The Pistons would acquire Jarrett Allen, Max Strus, Jaylon Tyson, Jake LaRavia, and two future draft picks. The Lakers would receive Duncan Robinson. Cleveland would then re-sign Harden to a two-year, $82.6 million deal.

The Pistons would gain Allen, 28, who averaged 15.4 points and 8.5 rebounds, and the younger, sharpshooting Max Strus. The Lakers would acquire a movement shooter.
