Cardinals Eye New NFL Coach: Morris, LaFleur Top List
25 Jan
Summary
- Raheem Morris, a former Falcons and Buccaneers coach, is a lead candidate.
- Anthony Campanile's Jaguars defense ranked sixth in DVOA last season.
- Mike LaFleur, brother of Matt LaFleur, is also a top contender.

The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly focusing their search for a new head coach on three primary candidates. Raheem Morris, who previously coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and most recently the Atlanta Falcons, stands out as the most experienced option.
Morris's head coaching tenure with the Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011 resulted in a 17-31 record. He later served as interim head coach for the Falcons in 2020, posting a 4-7 record, before a 16-18 stint as their head coach from 2021 to 2023.
Joining Morris as lead candidates are Anthony Campanile and Mike LaFleur. Campanile, the Jaguars' defensive coordinator since 2025, saw his unit rank sixth in DVOA and fourth against the run. LaFleur, the Rams' offensive coordinator, is recognized as part of the successful 'Sean McVay coaching tree.'
Campanile and LaFleur would both be first-time head coaches if selected. Campanile's background includes extensive college coaching and a role with the Dolphins before joining the Jaguars. LaFleur has NFL experience with the Browns, Falcons, 49ers, and Jets.
