This challenging slate is familiar for the Capitals, who also played 14 back-to-back sets last season, achieving a 16-12 record in those games but only securing consecutive wins in four instances. The increased frequency of these demanding situations will once again heavily involve backup goaltender Charlie Lindgren.

Lindgren, who experienced a down year with over half his starts occurring on the second night of back-to-back games, is focused on a strong rebound. Despite a .879 save percentage and 3.52 goals-against average in 21 games last season, general manager Chris Patrick praised his resilience in difficult assignments.
