Bundesliga's New Stars Shine in Supercup Opener

The 2026/27 Bundesliga season commences with the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. This opening match will feature Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, both of whom have bolstered their squads with new arrivals eager to impress.

Bayern Munich has signed Ismael Saibari, who impressed during the World Cup with Morocco, and Nathaniel Brown, a standout from Eintracht Frankfurt. Saibari offers attacking versatility, while Brown provides a solid option at left-back, a position recently affected by injuries.

Borussia Dortmund has been active in the transfer market, securing the services of exciting young prospects. Eighteen-year-old Konstantinos Karetsas, the youngest goalscorer for Greece, joins to add creativity to the midfield. They also signed Dutch international Joey Veerman, known for his playmaking abilities, and Greek goalscorer Giannis Konstantelias, compared to Scholes and Beckham.
