Buddo Secondary School is set to defend its basketball titles at the 7th USSSA Elite Secondary School Championships. The event is scheduled to take place at Janan Secondary School, Bombo Campus, from February 26 to March 1. Games teacher Amos Agaba conveyed optimism about his teams' preparedness to retain their crowns.
Agaba acknowledged that while Buddo has a strong basketball legacy, defending championships presents significant challenges. He stressed the school's ongoing commitment to player development as a strategy for sustained success. Buddo's teams are the defending champions in both boys' and girls' basketball 5x5 formats.
In addition to basketball, Buddo will also participate in netball and football, showcasing their overall strength in secondary school sports. The Elite Championship will feature the top eight schools from the previous National Championships across various disciplines including football, volleyball, and rugby.
Several rival schools are also confirmed participants. St Mary's Kitende returns after a three-year hiatus, entering football, basketball, and netball. Other notable participants include Standard High School Zzana, Bukedea Comprehensive School, Amus College School, and Kawanda Secondary School, alongside hosts Janan Secondary School.
The championship promises exciting competition, with Buddo aiming to solidify its basketball dominance against strong opposition. Past winners from the 2025 championships in various sports are also listed, indicating the high level of talent expected.
