The Boston Bruins are set to face elimination in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series against the Buffalo Sabres without forward Viktor Arvidsson. Arvidsson was injured during the first period of Boston's 6-1 loss on Sunday after a check from Sabres defenseman Mattias Samuelsson. His absence was confirmed by coach Marco Sturm, who stated Arvidsson did not travel with the team, without disclosing the nature of the injury.
The Bruins currently trail the series 3-1, with Arvidsson having contributed two goals in Boston's Game 2 victory. Coach Sturm is considering several lineup changes to counter the deficit, including the potential series debuts of forwards Michael Eyssimont and Alex Steeves. Additionally, veteran defenseman Henri Jokiharju is slated to replace Jordan Harris, marking his first appearance of the series. Sturm expressed the team's determination to bounce back and demonstrate a stronger performance.
