Summary
- Bruins' Geekie leads team in goals, scores 36 in 2025
- Geekie experiments with different stick curves, finds success
- Geekie's quick release and accuracy make him a "dangerous" scorer

In the 2025-26 NHL season, Boston Bruins' left wing Morgan Geekie has been on a scoring tear, netting 36 goals so far. This breakout performance has surprised many, as Geekie was not protected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2021 expansion draft and was even declined a qualifying offer by the Seattle Kraken two years later.
Geekie's success can be attributed in part to his experimentation with different stick curves. During a practice last Monday, he swapped his usual Adam Oates curve for a Nikita Kucherov model, seeking to find a better feel for the puck. Bruins coach Marco Sturm has been impressed by Geekie's quick release and accuracy, calling it a "dangerous combination" that few players possess.
Geekie's shooting prowess has been on full display this season. He is currently tied for the fourth-highest shooting percentage in the league among forwards with 30 or more shots, converting on 28.2% of his attempts. Sturm has rewarded Geekie's scoring touch by giving him a career-high 17:53 of ice time per game, second-most on the team behind only David Pastrnak.
With Geekie's continued development and the Bruins' faith in his abilities, the 23-year-old winger appears poised to cement his status as one of the league's premier goal-scorers in the years to come.
