- Teammate Patrick Surtain believes Barron is ready when called upon.
The Denver Broncos may consider trading cornerback Jahdae Barron, their 2025 first-round draft pick, as the NFL trade deadline approaches. Barron, who has been behind established players like Patrick Surtain and Riley Moss, has seen more action due to injuries at the position.
Despite being a high draft selection, Barron has faced challenges securing a consistent starting role. However, veteran cornerback Patrick Surtain has publicly supported Barron, stating he is prepared to perform when given opportunities. Riley Moss and Ja'Quan McMillian also remain ahead of Barron on the depth chart.
Some analysts speculate the Broncos could use Barron in a trade to acquire needed positional talent, while others, like Zack Kelberman, believe Barron will remain with the team and become a full-time starter next year. Barron is currently in the second year of a four-year, $18 million rookie contract.
