Summary

- India called for a BRICS Sporting Partnership for real collaboration.
- Udaipur and Ahmedabad will host key BRICS sports manufacturing and games.

BRICS Sports Ministers convened recently, adopting a Joint Declaration that reaffirms member states' dedication to bolstering sports cooperation through dialogue and mutual respect. India, chairing BRICS in 2026, actively promoted a vision for a robust BRICS Sporting Partnership.
This partnership aims to transcend declarations, focusing on practical collaborations such as athlete and coach exchanges, joint competitions, and the sharing of sports science knowledge. India highlighted its own evolving sports ecosystem, inviting global investors and companies to participate in its growth.
Three significant initiatives were advanced to deepen cooperation: a Working Group on Sports Technology, a Sports Manufacturing Conclave, and Traditional and Indigenous Sports Demonstration Games. Udaipur was selected to host the inaugural Sports Manufacturing Conclave, fostering trade and innovation.
Ahmedabad will host the BRICS Traditional and Indigenous Sports Demonstration Games in October 2026. These non-competitive games are designed to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding among participating nations.
