Forever Young Tops Breeders' Cup Classic Rankings

Forever Young has claimed the lead in the latest Longines Breeders' Cup Classic Rankings. This comes shortly after its victory in the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes on September 18. The horse, trained by Yoshito Yahagi, amassed 364 votes, with 24 of them being first-place votes. This performance propelled it past Sovereignty, who previously held the top position.

Sovereignty, trained by Bill Mott, now ranks second with 355 votes and 12 first-place votes. Knightsbridge, another Mott-trained horse, follows in third place. Magnitude and Golden Tempo round out the top five. These rankings assess the top 10 horses considered for the $7 million Longines Breeders' Cup Classic.

The 43rd edition of the Breeders' Cup World Championships will be held on October 31 at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. This prestigious event will feature a maximum of 14 starters. The race itself is a 1 1/4 mile contest on the main track and will be broadcast live on NBC.

Four horses have already secured automatic berths into the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic via the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series: Win and You're In. These include Sovereignty, Forever Young, Magnitude, and Knightsbridge. The rankings are determined by a panel comprising racing media, horseplayers, and Breeders' Cup officials.
