Breanna Stewart is returning to European play, signing with Fenerbahçe Opet in Turkey for the 2026 EuroLeague Final Six. This single-elimination tournament is scheduled to take place in Spain from April 15-19.
Stewart, who co-founded the WNBA league Unrivaled, will join Fenerbahçe after her current season concludes in early March. She is also slated to attend a Team USA training camp in Miami before heading to Turkey.
This marks Stewart's second stint with Fenerbahçe, having previously played for them during the 2022-23 season. In that season, she led the team to the EuroLeague championship and was named MVP of the Final Four.
The timing of the EuroLeague Final Six is advantageous for Stewart, as its conclusion on April 19 allows her ample time to return to the United States for the New York Liberty's WNBA season, adhering to player prioritization rules.
Stewart has expressed optimism regarding the ongoing WNBA Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations, noting recent progress and traction in discussions.
