Bosna Sarajevo: A Giant Returns to European Basketball?

A historic club from Bosnia, Bosna Sarajevo, is reportedly being considered for a place in the EuroCup. This potential return to continental basketball's elite level follows Monaco's anticipated exit from French professional basketball. Bosna Sarajevo boasts a rich legacy, having won the European Champions Cup, the precursor to the EuroLeague, in 1979.

Under the guidance of coach Bogdan Tanjevic in the late 1960s, Bosna became a dominant force. The team's golden era in the 1970s featured European basketball great Mirza Delibasic. The club is also historically linked with coach Svetislav Pesic, who played for them in the 1970s and coached in the 1980s. These connections underscore Bosna's significant place in basketball history.
