Summary
- Running back Sire Gaines and left guard Carson Rasmussen will miss the game.
- Gaines is in a walking boot; Rasmussen suffered an undisclosed injury.
- Dylan Riley will likely receive more carries in Gaines' absence.
Boise State's offensive unit will be significantly impacted as star running back Sire Gaines and left guard Carson Rasmussen have been declared out for Saturday's matchup against Texas State. Gaines, who has been a consistent performer this season, was seen in a walking boot following the team's recent victory.
Carson Rasmussen, who secured the starting left guard position, is sidelined with an undisclosed injury. Head coach Spencer Danielson indicated that Rasmussen's return is not imminent but expressed hope for his comeback later in the season. Jason Steele is set to make his fourth consecutive start at left guard in Rasmussen's place.
In Gaines' absence, running back Dylan Riley is expected to handle a more substantial share of the carries. Riley has been the leading rusher for the team this season. Wide receiver Ben Ford and tight end Austin Terry are cleared to play, with no other players listed on the game day availability report.
