Bogaerts responded to the challenge, batting .315 with a .905 OPS in September. This resurgence coincided with the Padres' climb to the NL's top wild-card position. His performance in the opening playoff game, including a home run, highlighted his readiness for October baseball.
Manager Craig Stammen emphasized the invaluable nature of Bogaerts' extensive postseason experience. The veteran's ability to perform under heightened intensity and focus is seen as a significant asset for the team. Despite the club's substantial $280 million investment, Bogaerts' late-season and playoff performance indicates his capability to deliver when it matters most.
