Bodybuilder Collapses, Dies Hours Before Birthday

Mateusz Chmura, a 33-year-old bodybuilder from Wakefield, passed away unexpectedly after collapsing on stage during the PCA British Finals at the Telford International Centre on Sunday, October 18. This tragic event occurred less than a day before his 34th birthday, which would have been on Monday, October 19. Medical services, including paramedics and the Midlands Air Ambulance, were quickly on the scene to provide aid before he was transported to the hospital. Despite their efforts, he could not be saved.

In the wake of this profound loss, Chmura's wife, Patrycja Chmura, took to his Instagram page to alert the public about an unauthorized online fundraiser. She explicitly stated her lack of association with the campaign and denied giving permission for any donations to be collected for the family. She urged the public not to contribute to this unauthorized effort, promising that any legitimate campaign would be announced through official channels. The couple had recently married two months prior, and had trained together less than 48 hours before his collapse. The official cause of death has not yet been announced.
