Multiple Toronto Blue Jays players recently participated in the World Baseball Classic, competing for their respective countries. Venezuela clinched the championship title, defeating a Team USA roster that included Blue Jays infielder Ernie Clement and pitchers Jeff Hoffman and Tyler Rogers. Giménez, another Blue Jay, entered the championship game in the ninth inning for Venezuela, later playing second base.
Clement, who had a breakthrough season in 2025, played in four games for Team USA, recording two walks. Tyler Rogers contributed two outs in the semifinal win and closed out the finale against Venezuela without allowing a run. Jeff Hoffman was added to the U.S. roster but did not pitch.
Other Blue Jays participating included Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for the Dominican Republic and Alejandro Kirk for Mexico, among others representing Great Britain, Panama, Canada, Nicaragua, Japan, Cuba, and Israel. This international competition underscored the diverse talent pool within the Blue Jays organization.
