Bills Try Out Ex-Falcons WR Thompkins

The Buffalo Bills' mandatory minicamp saw tryouts for two players: wide receiver Deven Thompkins and offensive lineman Derek Simmons. Simmons, an offensive lineman who finished his college career with the Oklahoma Sooners, also participated in the tryouts. He offers depth at a position where the Bills recently lost a key player. In his final collegiate season, Simmons started eight games and received solid blocking grades from Pro Football Focus. His versatility in playing multiple positions on the offensive line, including right tackle and left tackle, could make him a candidate for a roster spot as the team seeks to fill the void left by a departed swing tackle. Both players are looking to impress and earn a place on the Bills' roster.
