- Veteran D-Tackle D.J. Reader is sought for run defense improvement.
- Cornerback Rasul Douglas is a potential low-cost option for depth.
The Buffalo Bills have created crucial salary cap space by converting DJ Moore's contract, positioning themselves to make impactful moves before the NFL Draft. Currently operating with approximately $9 million under the cap, further adjustments could free up additional resources.
The team is prioritizing defensive improvements, particularly their run defense, which was one of the league's worst in the 2025 season. Veteran defensive tackle D.J. Reader is a key target, known for his formidable run-stopping ability. Reader expressed a desire to join a competitive organization.
In the secondary, the Bills are considering a reunion with cornerback Rasul Douglas. Douglas, a former Bill from 2023-2024, offers valuable experience and leadership. His familiarity with the team and his past positive influence on teammates like Christian Benford make him an attractive option to mentor young players.
